The BrainSavers App
The BrainSavers App brings the BrainSavers Fitness & Wellness Program to your phone, tablet, or computer.
The app features pre-recorded, instructor-led exercise classes you can follow anytime; live classes from Dr. Bendheim and other BrainSavers experts; brain games to exercise your mind; short articles to keep you up to date on the science of brain health; a brain-healthy recipe each week; one small habit to practice; and more.

Living well and aging well
BrainSavers is an evidence-informed program created by board-certified neurologist and author Dr. Paul E. Bendheim. It focuses on building the everyday habits research links to brain health in later life: physical exercise, mental exercise, restful sleep, brain-health nutrition, stress management, and spending time with other people.
BrainSavers’ popular live class has been taught in YMCAs, JCCs, and senior centers around the country. The app brings the same program home, one week at a time, with a short daily task. No part of the program ever runs late or expires.
Instructor-led video classes
Two video classes are offered every week. They provide guided relaxation, physical exercise adapted for older adults, a short lesson from Dr. Bendheim, and a cognitive exercise. Large captions are a tap away, and you can stop a class partway and pick up where you left off.

Brain games that feel like play
Each game works a different kind of thinking. You earn a point for answering and more for a right answer, and points never go down.
-
Memory. Where things were on a table, what was in a picture, words you just heard, and the neighbors you just met.
-
Words and language. Finish a familiar saying, put a scrambled sentence back in order, and find the word two lists share.
-
Attention. Keep track of cards as they go by, and name the color of the ink, not the word.
-
Reasoning. Spot the one that doesn’t belong, and work out everyday problems like a bill or a receipt.
-
History. Place a moment from the headlines in its year.
A reading, a recipe, and one small habit
Each week brings a short, readable piece on the research behind brain health, a brain-healthy recipe with a photograph, and a Skill Builder: one doable habit, like a short walk after meals.
A quick daily check-in and a short survey at the start and later show you what has changed. Nothing is scored, and there are no right answers.

No. The app runs in your web browser. You open a link and add it to your home screen, and from then on it opens from its own icon.
What do I need to use it?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a web browser, and an email address you can check. A tablet is the most comfortable way to follow the video classes.
Is this medical care?
No. BrainSavers is a wellness and education program. It is not a diagnosis or a treatment, and it is not a substitute for your doctor. Check with your doctor before starting any new exercise program.
