Description

The benefits from regular physical exercise for the heart, lungs, musculoskeletal systems and mood are widely known. What is less generally recognized are the truly remarkable benefits to the brain’s cognitive functions. Based on extensive research we now know that exercise profoundly benefits virtually all of the complex systems and cognitive functions we depend on to function optimally. Aging individuals who do modest aerobic exercise have better memory and a reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease and overall dementia.

In this Oasis Everywhere webinar, Paul Bendheim MD, the founder of BrainSavers®, professor of clinical neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, and best-selling author of The Brain Training Revolution: A Proven Workout for Healthy Brain Aging, will explore with you the evidence linking exercise to a more resilient brain. Dr. Bendheim will be joined by Angie Moore, BrainSavers’ physical exercise expert in explaining how to begin and build a regular exercise routine. Dr. Gina Touch Mercer, a gero-psychologist and expert in behavioral change will moderate.
